Known for his versatility and dedication, Abhay Verma is stepping into uncharted territory with a unique cinematic offering by Maddock Films' in his upcoming film 'Munjya.' Abhay, who has previously won international acclaim for his performance in 'Safed,' which was a part of Cannes, along with Dharma Productions' 'Ae Watan Mere Watan,' shall now be seen in an entertainment-packed, horror film, 'Munjya,' in the lead role opposite Sharvari.
Reflecting on his excitement and the project's uniqueness, Abhay shared, "To be a part of something that hasn't happened before in Bollywood itself makes it special for me. You always want to be a part of love stories in Bollywood and I'm extremely grateful to Lord Ganesha for a love story this wicked yet loving!"
'Munjya' promises to be a groundbreaking film, blending unexpected twists with a heavy dose of humor. Abhay, who leads the film, expressed his passion for innovative projects, stating, "Creating something which has never been done before is always something I've been inclined towards. The film's trailer offers a glimpse into the world of 'Munjya', leaving audiences curious about the titular creature's relentless search for a mysterious 'Munni'. The chilling yet humorous glimpse leaves viewers eager to discover the secrets behind this unique creature and its quest. The movie revolves around 'Munjya', a rooted myth in Indian belief and cultural system. 'Munjya' can not only talk and move but also manages to strike fear in the hearts of audiences, adding a unique twist to the genre.
Talking about the film Dinesh Vijan said, "At the heart of it, this is Munjya's love story and it's about his first love - Munni. However, he doesn't get her! If you've ever had an obsessive lover or obsessed over anybody, you will understand his POV. If not his, Munni's for sure he jokingly adds. Munjya is technologically the most advanced CGI actor out there in India and we are very proud of it. It definitely is going to be a spectacle for children, gen next, and the whole family."
The film also stars Sharvari, Mona Singh, and Sathyaraj. Aditya Sarpotdar helms it.'Munjya' is produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik, a Maddock Films Production, and will be released in cinemas on June 7.
