Yesteryear actress Achala Sachdev passes away

The actress who was famous for the song 'Ae Meri Zohra Jabeen' from the iconic movie 'Waqt' breathed her last today in Pune.


The 91-year-old actress' was admitted to the Poona Hospital and Research Centre for several ailments. Sachdev broke her left leg after a fall in her house nearly six months ago.

She was last seen in the Hrithik Roshan-Esha Deol starrer 'Na Tum Jaano Na Hum'. Born on May 3, 1920, Sachdev made her film debut with 'Fashionable Wife' in 1938 and acted in over 130 Hindi films in her career.

She also played some memorable roles as mother and grandmother in 'Dilwale Dhulaniya Le Jayege', 'Chandni', 'Karm', 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham'.
