After Pradeep Sarkar, Raju Hirani and R Balki, it's now ad filmmaker Vishal Aryan Singh's turn to enter into Bollywood. Vishal's debut film United 6 is set to release next month. CS spoke to Vishal to know more about his project:
The transition from directing ad films to making a full-fledged film was a great experience. It is a very contemporary flick about six girls who carry out a bank robbery. My film has no hero. I've thoroughly enjoyed working on the project. I have also written the script for a film that's going to be made by Priyadarshan.u00a0
Ad on
It feels good to see the success of filmmakers like Pradeep Sarkar, Raju Hirani, R Balki and others. This is a golden period for us. Ad filmmakers have an advantage as they understand consumer psyche very well.
We make films for products that range from mass to niche markets, which gives us a good understanding of story boards and what works where. That's our USP.
Filmmakers I adore
My favourite directors are Guy Ritchie, Quentin Tarantino and Billy Wilder. In the current crop, I like Imtiaz Ali, Dibakar Banerjee and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. I also enjoy reading O'Henry books because the endings are always very cleverly scripted.
