Money Back, Please! Sunny Deol and Sanjay Gupta |
Usually, when an actor is doing well, production houses sign up with them and then build projects around them at a later date.
A few years back, Sunny Deol had taken signing amounts from various producers (Sanjay Gupta included). But many of these films never took off and now Gupta wants his money back and Deol is not obliging.
FrustratedA source in the industry reveals, "Sanjay had signed Sunny for the film a few years back for Rs 1 crore to act in director Yusuf Khan's untitled next."
It is believed that after the money exchanged hands, Gupta couldn't even get Sunny to listen to a story narration. Gups finally gave up and asked the actor to return the signing amount.
Sunny kept refusing and the frustrated filmmaker finally lodged a complaint against him with the AMPTPP. But Sunny seems to be dodging the producers' body too.
They've sent him a final notice to attend the meeting and settle his dues with Sanjay's company White Feather Films and Pritish Nandy Communications who also have a case pending against him for a long time."
Sanjay Gupta and Sunny Deol remained unavailable for comment. But AMPTPP secretary, Monica confirms the reports, "Yes both White Feather and PNC have complaints against Sunny for Rs 1 crore and Rs 50 lakh respectively.
In his last letter to us, Sunny has asked for time till May 4, as he is shooting abroad for his next film The Man and the committee is going to hold a meeting any time between May 14 to 25 to accommodate Sunny's schedule."
