Sharmila Tagore and Soha Ali Khan have a lot more in common than just their stunning looks. Apart from a passion for cinema and acting, the mother-daughter duo are also each other's best critics. After starring in a film together, Sharmila and Soha gear up to talk to CS about the experience:

Working together
Sharmila Tagore: Working with Soha on Life Goes On was a very positive experience. I think that she is extremely professional and has a great temperament. She has a good sense of humour and keeps everyone relaxed.

Soha Ali Khan: This will always be a very special film for me. Of course, it has sentimental value because it has mom and me acting together for the first time.

Mom's lessons
Sharmila Tagore: I did help her a bit to get her Bengali intonation right from her film Antar Mahal. Then, she was little too stiff in her early films, which I pointed out. I noticed that she used to arch her eyebrows a little too much in her early films, which is also a sign of nervousness.

Soha Ali Khan: Mom has a critical eye and helped me with my body language. I remember I used to try crying naturally for my emotional scenes but she told me that too much realism isn't good. The effect can be over the top. You need to hold yourself back even when you're trying to be realistic.

Personal favourites
Sharmila Tagore: I loved Soha in Antar Mahal and Khoya Khoya Chand. The latter is a huge favourite of mine. There was a lot of criticism that she looked too young to play the part but I thought she fitted the role. After all, girls enter the industry in their adolescence and that's when most of them are exploited, which was a part of the story. So, I didn't agree with the critics on that one (smiles).

Soha Ali Khan: Well, I don't remember watching too many Hindi films as a kid. But I loved her in Mausam, Chupke Chupke and An Evening in Paris. We kids grew up on different genres of cinema. Nowadays, we do enjoy watching films together.

Mom's the word
Sharmila Tagore: I don't believe in the idea of being a mother and a friend. She has enough friends to be with. But we do talk a lot and share things with each other.
Soha Ali Khan: Mom has always been very approachable. I have never been scared of her. Yeah, there's a bit of nervousness but only as much as any other young girl.
