He is the only fourth Indian batsman after Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar and Dilip Vengsarkar to score more than 300 runs in four consecutive test series.u00a0

Gambhir had a lean run in 2005 and 2007 when he was dropped from the test team after a bad season against Sri Lanka.u00a0
