Bollywood music might be their bread and butter, but Salim Merchant still feels that our country needs to acquire a taste for non-filmy music.
He tells CS, "I thoroughly enjoy my work and I'm a big fan of Bollywood music. But I think it is unfortunate that we as a country aren't exploring other genres of music.
We need to develop a taste for music that isn't filmy. It would be great if talented musicians got a chance and a platform to showcase their talent.
We have such a wide pool of classical musicians in India who don't get the credit that they deserve." Well Salim, maybe you could raise your voice for the cause.
