When actor Sonu Sood came for the MiD DAY Corporate Cricket League, he couldn't resist hitting some sixes himself. Like every Indian, I passionately follow cricket.

If I weren't an actor, I would probably be a cricketer," says the hunk. With the summer cricket season reaching its peak, CS speaks to Sonu about cricket:

Who: Sonu Sood
What: On his love for cricket
Where: At Parsi Gymkhana, Marine Lines

Cricket crazy
Needless to say, I am a huge cricket fan. As a child, I often dreamt of playing for India. But destiny had other plans for me. However, I am a part of the celebrity cricket league, and represent the Bollywood team. I am glad that I get a chance to play competitive matches at least once in a year. It's fun to be an actor and a cricketer as well. When I am playing cricket, I play with as much seriousness as a professional cricketer.

Glued to the action
I think the Delhi team will win the cricket league this year. They have a very strong team with proven performers. But my heart is also with some of the underdogs like the Rajasthan team. Though I haven't had the time to watch all the matches, I am keeping abreast of the scores. I love players like Virender Sehwag, Morne Morkel, Ajinkya Rahane and Ross Taylor. And it goes without saying, Sachin Tendulkar!

Bowled!
I remember playing a match against the Sri Lankan national team in Colombo, Sri Lanka. It was an exhibition match. Our team of Bollywood actors performed brilliantly. I had taken cricketer Kumar Sangakkara's wicket in the match. I bowled him out. It was great fun to get the better of a classy player like him.

Fit is hit
When you play a sport, you become like a child. Outdoor games are the perfect stress-buster. Playing is also a great way to maintain your fitness. An hour in the football field is as effective as a couple of hours in a gym. I love playing sports with my kids whenever I am at home. My sons love cricket and football.

Papa kehte hain
My elder son is very fond of cricket. I have got a cricket coach for him. It is good to see so many coaching schools around. I grew up in a small town where we didn't have facilities to learn or train. I really believe that talent should get the right direction at a young age. I will be a proud father if my son plays cricket for India.u00a0
