It's homecoming time for Jacqueline Fernandez. The 'Kick' actress is looking forward to her debut in Sri Lankan films with 'According to Mathew'.
Though she was brought up in Bahrain and studied in Australia, it was in Lanka that she took her initial steps with showbiz after winning the Miss Sri Lanka title.
Jacqueline Fernandez shared the above photo on Instagram, where she is seen with actor Alston Koch in a still from her Sri Lankan film debut 'According to Mathew'. She captioned it, "According to Mathew.. Coming soon! #myfirstsrilankanfilm #srilanka #truestory".
'According to Mathew' is based on an incident in the island country about the affair and the murders by Rev Father Mathew Pieris, pastor of St Paul's Church, who was later condemned to death by hanging for the murder of his wife and the husband of his mistress.
'According to Mathew' is directed by Chandran Rutnam and is based on the true story of a Reverend in Sri Lanka who was convicted of double murders in 1979.
