With the launch of her splendid flagship store last year, Anita Dongre nurtured a dream of cultivating the store into a destination, where fashion meets food and art to provide an experience, which could be compared to none.u00a0

This gave birth to Schokolaade, a one of its kind desert cafe, launched at her flagship store at Linking Road, Khar.u00a0 This would be the first time in India, that a fashion designer has introduced the concept of bringing together food, fashion and art under one roof.u00a0
Delighted at the opening of the cafe, Anita says," I always cherished a dream of creating an inimitable fashion destination, to make shopping a more wonderful experience."
Cool cafe
Designed by interior designer, Namrata Baruwa Shroff, Schokolaade is a warm and welcoming place for everyone. The idea was to create a space that was casual, comfortable yet warm to spend time in.u00a0 Exited about her new venture, Namrata says, "I wanted to give it a light look, thus the never-ending Pinewood Bench which also lengthens the space.u00a0 The chairs are designed like hemispheres to sink into, padded with chubby cushions in yummy colours like mango and chocolate.
Colour code
The colour palette of cream, dark chocolate brown, red and pinewood brown is in keeping with the brand's identity. The highlight of the cafe is the Ochre wall branded with the Schokolaade logo, which also serves as the art wall. Says Mehul Bhuta, CEO, Peppercorn Hospitality Services, "I envisage Schokolaade as not just a destination, but an institution; where passion, innovation and quality, blend together deliciously to make the town sweeter.
