With even the Rio Olympics stars endorsing them, sequins are the latest trend you should be wearing. Here’s how

At Rio, high-end designers have been enlisted to design team uniforms; for instance, Stella McCartney for England and Ralph Lauren for the United States. Needless to say, in addition to watching the incredible athletes outperform each other, we've been big fans of some of the outfits worn at the games.
From what we've seen, sequins seem to be the big trend this year. A hit on the international runways for Fall/Winter 2016, they are a great way to stand out from the crowd and really turn the sparkle up.
While Bundchen wore
a full-length, sequined Alexandre Herchovitch gown for her aforementioned walk, many gymnasts are also sporting outfits with sequins or subtle shimmer. the guide tells you how to wear it right:
Accessorise
If you're worried about an all-out sequined look, opt for sequined accessories. Whether it's a box clutch, sparkly heels or even a bejewelled headband, the little touches will elevate your outfit. The additions will take your day look and carry it all the way through dinner and drinks.

Keep it classy
To keep your look sophisticated, opt for sequins in a single colour. Mashing together sequins in different colours will make you look less like eye candy and more like an eyesore. The key is to keep it simple. Black, gold and silver are great colours for sequins, but avoid mixing them up with bright colours, as it could end up looking tacky.
Be confident
Don't be afraid to go all-out with the trend! Look for classic full-length or mini dresses covered in sequins. You don't need any jewellery or accessories - just a killer smile and some confidence. This look is not for the faint hearted, and will work wonders for a New Year's Eve party or a big cocktail soirée.
Mix and match
Add some depth to your outfit and pair a sequinned skirt with a sheer white shirt or don a sequined bomber jacket over a denim dress. Don't be afraid to experiment because sequins are meant to be fun.
Avoid going OTT
The main thing to remember about sequins is that they will always be the centre of attention. Do not opt for heavy make up or a complicated hairdo, because it will just end up taking away from your outfit. Your silhouette should be sleek and simple, rather than over the top.
