Farhan Akhtar who lost weight while shooting for his home production Karthik Calling Karthik has been slowly and steadily gaining it again.
Says a source from the KCK unit, "In the first half of the film, Farhan plays a lovable loseru00a0- a loner who doesn't have a great body. So he lost a lot of weight for the first schedule. He put himself on a diet and stopped working out. He's one of those people who start losing weight when they stop working out.
Finally, when he came on the sets, people were shocked to see how much weight he had lost. Farhan lost almost 12-15 kg and came down to 63 kg when he started shooting."
But everything changed in the second schedule. "We saw a drastic change in him when he had to now play a good-looking guy with a fit, muscular body. Farhan also had to regain the weight he had lost, so he started gymming again. He also took up yoga with Manish Tiwari, who'd train him for an hour daily. He's almost back to his original weight of 80 kgs now."
Farah laughingly admits that he had been doing yoga for a month but had to give it up because he couldn't continue to do both yoga and work out at the gym. "Initially, I had lost a lot of weight and came down to 63 kg. I lose weight when I stop exercising so I did that and followed a certain diet. My character in KCK doesn't have a muscular body initially.
When I had to gain weight again I joined Manish's power yoga. But I had to stop after a month as it was too taxing on my body. I need a break of a couple of months and then I will start power yoga again."
Farhan says he did power yoga because he had stopped working out. "I wanted to ease my body into a workout regimeu00a0- give it the right conditioning that would make my body more flexible before I started gymming again. My body hadn't been used to workouts for three months or so. I did yoga with Manish and also worked out with my trainer Nagesh at a Juhu gym."
