That's because Billy Joel's songs have a fresh feel to them, even years after their release. The musician, who's a six-time Grammy Award winner and a 23-time Grammy nominee, has sold over 150 million records worldwide. As he turns 63 today, CS brings you some trivia on him:

>> In 2011, Joel announced that he was going to release an autobiography but the publication of the book was cancelled later. Joel apparently decided against revising the past.
>> The singer tried to commit suicide in 1970 after battling depression for many years. He was
treated for depression and later, Joel recorded You're Only Human as a message to help prevent teen suicide.
>> Joel is a trained pianist.
>> He was once a successful boxer. His music career started when he broke his nose in his 24th boxing match and decided to give up boxing for music.
