Veteran actor Anupam Kher, who will stage the 200th performance of his one-actor play 'Kuchh Bhi Ho Sakta Hai' on January 3 next year, feels that it has liberated him from the fear of failure.
The play, sometimes sad, sometimes comic and often inspirational, is a sketch of Kher's life.
It is the journey of a man who ought to be a failure but manipulated his destiny and forced it to make him a success.
"All of us are in search of success and are terrified of failing.'Kuchh Bhi Ho Sakta Hai' (KBHSH) liberated me from the fear of failure. It made me connect with people and taught me that failures can be stepping stones to success," Kher said.
The recital of the two-and-a half hour play will be held in the metropolis at the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) and has been directed by Feroz Abbas Khan.
Brilliantly crafted and executed, the resounding success of KBHSH was unexpected as plays have a shorter run. "At best I thought we would do about 50 shows.. but 200 has been a pleasant surprise. Anupam and I took a journey to redefine the theatre experience and in the process we also re-invented ourselves as actor and director," Abbas said. "I have not met anyone who hasn't been blown over by Anupam's performance and been greatly inspired by this play," he said.
Kher, 54, has acted in almost 400 feature films and has won several national and international awards. He was in the limelight recently for his roles in global productions with directors like Gurinder Chaddha, Ang Lee and Woody Allen.
