"I can talk English, I can walk English, I can laugh English, because English is a very funny language." This iconic dialogue from Amitabh Bachchan-starrer 'Namak Halaal' (1982) still connects with Bollywood buffs. With the cult classic completing 35 years this month, VKAAO and Shemaroo Entertainment Ltd have joined hands to re-release it across India on May 21.

The movie has been restored by Shemaroo and moviegoers can book a private screening through VKAAO. They can also book tickets at the theatre booking counters. Kamal Gianchandani, CEO of PVR Pictures Ltd, says, "The concept of screening iconic films in theatres is popular in the West; we hope to popularise it in India."

Directed by Prakash Mehra, the film starred Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor, Smita Patil, Parveen Babi and Waheeda Rehman. The songs - Aaj Rapat Jaayen, Pag Ghungroo, Raat Baaki and Jawani Janeman - composed by Bappi Lahiri were big hits. Lahiri says, "Its soundtrack was one of my best creations in my 47-year film career. Pag Ghungroo was the first 12-minute film song and one of the first fusion tracks."
