The audience was extremely happy after hearing the news of Ajay Devgn and Ranbir Kapoor coming together for a film. It was one and a half years ago that Ajay's fan club had taken to their Instagram account to announce the news of the duo collaborating for a Luv Ranjan film. The project was touted to be a quirky relationship drama.
The film remained in the news for several reasons for its lead actress. From Shraddha Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Deepika Padukone, many actresses were recommended for this project. However, the Padmaavat actress denied the news facing the wrath of fans waging a war on Twitter for working with a #MeToo accused person. The film's director Luv Ranjan has been accused of sexual misconduct and he found his name mired in the #MeToo controversy. Later, Deepika assured her fans that she will never work with anybody with such accusations.
According to a report in Pinkvilla, this project might never take off considering Ajay Devgn has opted out of the project. Speaking about the same, a source informed the entertainment portal, "Ajay Devgn has taken his name out of the film. He opted out a few weeks ago and now, won't be starring in the movie anymore. There were a few things that all of them couldn't agree on and they thought it's better to not take the discussion ahead anymore. The film was anyway getting pushed but after AJ's exit, it seems the entire project has been derailed."
The source further said that Luv is concentrating on another project. "He has decided to keep this film on the back burner and concentrate on another film that he's been planning to mount on for some time now." Well, let's see what time has in store for this film! Previously, Salman Khan opted out of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film with Alia Bhatt due to creative differences.
