The thriller-drama, produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and directed by Bejoy Nambiar, also stars megastar Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role.
Aditi says as she did not grow up with people from Bollywood, she gets awe-struck when she comes face to face with many people from the film industry.
"I have not hung with these people while growing up, so just being with there with them on set was amazing. There is always that awe-struck fan girl moment with people like Bachchan sir, Farhan, Vidhu Vinod Chopra sir or even Bejoy," Aditi told PTI.
"What I found with Farhan was the same feeling of a fan girl but once you come in front of the camera, you are just playing the character. Farhan is into what he does, he is very present, the honesty in his eyes struck me. His eyes are speaking the truth," she added.
The 29-year-old "London Paris New York" actress made her Bollywood debut with "Delhi 6" but rose to prominence with Sudhir Mishra's 2011 film "Yeh Saali Zindagi".
The actress will now be seen playing the role of Ruhana Ali, wife of Danish, played by Farhan.
Aditi was "speechless" when the film was offered to her.
"When you're not from the industry, you don't have people backing you or pushing you or making films for you, then something like this happens so I feel there is somebody up who's looking after
me."
Bejoy had seen a picture of Aditi when she walked ramp for a designer and found a quality in the "Murder 3" actress which he was looking to recreate.
Post which, Aditi went through three set of auditions-dance acting and look test before finally bagging the role.
"It was a challenging film because it was a character I had no understanding about. Sometimes after the emotional scenes, I felt like my life was sucked out of me and I was winded."
The film tells the story of two unusual friends - a paralysed chess grandmaster and a grief stricken ATS officer brought together by a twist of fate.
"Wazir" is scheduled to release on January 8.
