He's been on the other side of the fence and experienced what it feels to weigh 120 kgs. "Your life gets so dull and depressing," explains Adhyayan Suman, who has learnt the hard way about living healthy. He tells CS+ve that health is a driving factor in his life today, and not just because he's an actor:
Healthy deal
Health is the vital principle for attaining bliss. It is a driving force in my life since I know what it is to be obese. I was so till the age of 19. Now I've realised that I feel good when I look good and feel healthy from within. When you are unhealthy, your life becomes uninteresting. I don't want to ever experience that.
A pack-full
In fact, my dad is a big motivator when it comes to fitness. He has six packs and I've been trying to reach that target. I think I am getting closer by the day; at the moment I have about four-and-a-half packs (smiles). Actually, I'd once worked towards getting six packs and was successful too. But they are not sustainable. Honestly, you have to work extremely hard to keep them. So now once again I'm working extra hard on getting my abs back into shape.
Fitness mania
And so, my daily fitness regime comprises an hour of yoga, cardio exercise followed by weight training and then tennis. But on a working day, I try and wake up early and finish my cardio first. Then depending on the time I come back from work, I finish weight training. There have been times when I have come back home at 3am and worked out till four. I'm crazy that way. No matter how tired I am, I don't like missing out my workouts.
Fare affair
I've realised that if you aren't healthy, then you won't be able to do much. And diet is a big contributor to healthy living, but sadly it is also something that a lot of people don't believe in. The secret to fitness is not about how hard you work out, but how hard u push yourself to eat right. Always remember, it's 80 per cent diet and 20 per cent exercise that'll make you healthy.
