That's him, me and the questionnaire

That's him, me and the questionnaire

On a Tuesday morning, Aamir Khan is having his first cup of tea in his study. Dressed in a tee and jeans, he sports a salt-and-pepper moustache, which he keeps pulling and tugging at, all through the interview. He sits cross-legged on his sofa and smiles when I tell him he won't have more than three minutes to answer any question. And all his answers have to be under three sentences. Since right now it's all about his film 3 Idiots. We had three-much fun during the Q and A.u00a0 Read on to indulge the idiot in you.

3 memories connected with 3 Idiots that you will always remember?
My stay at IIM Bangalore (I lived in a hostel for the first time. When Raju and Vinod asked me, 'Tu kahan rahega Bangalore main?' I said, 'Hostel main. Jahan hum shooting kar rahe hain'). My experience of interacting with Raju and Vinod. And my promotional tour across the country.

3 things that you loved about the script when you heard it for the first time?
First, that the script was not just extremely engaging and entertaining but also enriching. The second thing I liked was the way each of the characters were written and the third thing is that there are so many unconventional things in the film that made me feel, 'ke yaar mainstreamu00a0 main aap yeh nahin dikha sakte ho.'

3 things you are hoping people will get about the film.
I am hoping they will get the various messages that are there in the film. That they would like the performances of all the actors and finally, that they will find the film very funny.

3 days of shooting that you want to relive.
I would like to relive the first day of shooting because I was most nervous and stressed and excited. Then the day we shot the scene where we are taking a class photograph and I am sitting next to Boman (Irani). He says something funny and I was not meant to laugh but I couldn't stop myself. And I laughed so much (while staying in character) and Raju liked the scene so much that he retained it. It is a very funny scene and I really enjoyed doing it. And finally, any of the days I shot with Kareena because she was great fun to work with.

3 days of your life that you want to relive.
Wow! That's a tough one. Just three days!u00a0 The birth of both my childrenu00a0-- we will count that as one. Then, any happy day from my childhood. And lastly, September 7, the day that my wife, Kiran (Rao) came into my life.

3 things you wish you could change about yourself.
3 things I want to change about myself as people keep complaining about it again and again. One is: my family wants me to work less hard...

Aamir, you do one film a year!!
That doesn't mean I am working less.

True. You get too involved.
Yeah, so actually I am working much more than other's so to sum it up. Firstly I get too lost in my work, so that is one complaint I keep hearing from my family. The second complaint from my fansu00a0-- which is exactly the opposite of what my family saysu00a0-- which is that should do more work. Somehow I would magically like to do both. Less work and more work. Have more time for myself and my family, and do more films for my fans. And the third thing I would like to change about myself is that I wish I could be more organised. I am very disorganised.

Come on, Aamir!!
(shaking head) I am not kidding.

Youu00a0have to be kidding.
No. These are appearances. I wish I could be lot more organised. I am totally scatter brained.

Ya, I believe you. Ok, 3 things you wish you'd done differently in your professional life. And personal life.
Personal life... (That is) is a tough one. I don't know if I am ready to share that with people. (thinks) And in my professional life...(pauses) actually for both these questions I have one answer. I feel that I have made a lot of mistakes, depending of what word you want to use for the decisions I have made in my life but the honest truth is that I value my mistakes as much as my right choices. Because I feel what I am today, is a result of all that. It's all a part of me. It's how I am.

3 people whose opinion matters professionally.
There are more than three people. One, is my director who has made the film. Two, I would say my
family because there are a number of people in my family whose opinion
matters equally which includes my wife Kiran, my parents, my children, Nusrat, Mansoor, my brother and sisters. And three, my ex-wife Reena.

3 things about you that no one knows.
I think people know a lot about me.

No, you think wrong.
(Laughs aloud) Okay, here is what I think no one knows about me. That I am paranoid about something bad happening to my family, I can go without sleep for days on end, I can solve the Rubik's cube in under a minute.

3 directors you would've liked to have worked with.
Guru Dutt, Mehboob Khan and K Asif.

3 actors you admire.
Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan and Nargis.
u00a0
A 3 am friend? Someone you'd call in time of a crisis.
Vinod Chopra.

3 things you want to tell college students.
Be there only if you want to learn something, don't chase success chase excellence, attend lectures of even those teachers who are not necessarily cute to look at.

3 gifts that you've received that are precious to you.
Life, a beautiful family, and my love for cinema.

3 people from history you wish you had known.
Gandhiji, Marilyn Monroe, and Sant Kabir.

3 books you recommend that everyone read
Mahabharat, A Confedracy Of Dunces, and A Short History Of Nearly Everything.
