2009 has begun on a sad note for Celina Jaitly. She lost her young cousin in a road mishap on January 1. To add to her sorrow, her aunt passed away the same day. She had been ailing for quite a while now.
The actress was in London for her New Year's ever show when it happened. Her family did not inform her about the tragedies. As she had committed herself for the gala event, they did not want her to back out at the last minute.
It is learnt that when Celina arrived in Mumbai on January 2, she was shocked to hear about the demise of two family members.
Celina's cousin brother Tarush Sudan (21), was killed in an accident on his to way to Lonavala. A truck hit the car he was travelling in along with two friends. Meanwhile, her aunt Krishna Jaitly, who was in the ICU, has been in depression ever since her husband's death.
A source close to Celina says, "Tarush is from her dad's side and there are only three boys, which include her brother, another cousin and Tarush. Although she was not in touch with Tarush of late since he studies in Pune and she has been travelling, they have grown up together."
The source adds, "Her aunt has been in the ICU for the past six months. She lost her husband last year and has been in depression since then. She expired the same day as her husband did last year."
Celina says, "At this moment, I am unable to express what my family and I are going through."
