WWI School of Media & Communications’ ‘Masterclass Marathon’ To Witness The Confluence Of Top Media & Entertainment Professionals

Whistling Woods International (WWI) School of Media & Communication (SMC) is set to host its inaugural edition of ‘Masterclass Marathon, a series of back-to-back masterclass sessions with top media & entertainment professionals from some of the country's leading media companies. The sessions are scheduled to take place next week, from May 09 to 13, 2022 at the WWI Mumbai campus.

The Masterclass Marathon will include guests from companies such as Netflix India, Boom Fact Check, Mediabrands Content Studio, ASB Communications, and Shobiz Experiential Communication, who will share their insights across domains such as advertising, marketing, and journalism. Each session will deep-dive into a specific area of media and communications and address trending topics of discussion.

The speaker lineup for the five days is as follows:

1) Siddhant Mazumdar (Day 1, May 09, 2022) - Head at Mediabrands Content Studio:

Siddhant Mazumdar has worked across agencies and platforms for over 14. Currently, he heads IPG's newly formed content division in India, Mediabrands Content Studio. Prior to IPG, he was the Chief Operating Officer at WizeApe. He has also worked at Vice Media as Sales Director for almost two years. Prior to that, he has held various copywriting positions including that at Ogilvy, J. Walter Thompson Worldwide, Ignitee Digital Solutions, and IT Nation.

2) Braj Kishore (Day 2, May 10, 2022) - Managing Director at ASB Communications Private Limited:

Braj Kishore is a marketing communication professional turned communication industry entrepreneur. After practicing communication on the corporate side for over 25 years, he is now running his own consulting firm at Mumbai. During his distinguished corporate career, he has steered communication in a perfect mix of B2B and B2C industries like Life Insurance, Retail Finance, Healthcare, Infrastructure, Equipment Finance and Home Loans. His last few assignments were Head of CorpCom at Reliance Infrastructure and Head of Brand and CorpCom at SBI Life Insurance. He holds an MBA from the Melbourne Business School, Australia, and is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi.

3) Rajesh Singh (Day 3, May 11, 2022) - Executive Vice President at Shobiz Experiential Communication Private Limited:

Rajesh Singh is an experienced event planner and executioner with a demonstrated history of working in the experiential services industry. He is skilled in global events, event planning, integrated marketing, advertising, and business development. He has spent 24 years delivering some of the most defining experiences in terms of innovation and scale for Shobiz Experiential Communication as the Executive Vice President-Event Services. He oversees all the aspects of the event landscape for clients including strategy, planning, and management.

4) Jency Jacob (Day 4, May 12, 2022) - Managing Editor at Boom Fact Check:

Jency Jacob has worked with some of the top television and print networks in the country. He manages a newsroom of 20 enterprising fact checkers across India, Myanmar and Bangladesh, who are striving to keep our social media and public space clear of misinformation and communally sensitive disinformation that can result in real-life implications. He is also a regular speaker at various national and international conferences, speaking about the importance of battling misinformation and the media's role in countering them with credible and factual news stories.

5) Rohit Vedprakash (Day 5, May 13, 2022) - Director at Netflix India Original:

Based out of Mumbai, Rohit Vedprakash joined Netflix, the world's leading entertainment service in 2019 and oversees the overall local language content strategy. He is focused on bringing forth the work of the finest storytellers and writers in the country and making Netflix the home for diverse content. Prior to Netflix, he worked with The Walt Disney Company as a theatrical production consultant.

These various masterclass sessions, exclusively scheduled for WWI students, will be moderated by Rahul Puri, Head of Academics at WWI, and faculty of the WWI School of Media and Communication with a demonstrated history of working in the branding and communication sector.
