A decade of nurturing minds
Nahar International School (NIS), an institution that has redefined education, proudly celebrates a decade of growth, innovation, and excellence. Founded in 2014 with the vision of nurturing global citizens, NIS started its journey with just 99 students in its inaugural academic year and has since flourished into a vibrant community of over 1200 learners. The school is accredited by the globally renowned Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) from Pre-primary to Grade 12 and also offers the prestigious International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP).

Founded by Mr. Sukhraj B. Nahar, Trustee of NIS, Founder and Managing Director of Nahar Group, the school was established in June 2014 with the goal of equipping students with the skills and knowledge required to excel in today’s technologically advanced global economy. Offering world-class facilities, NIS serves children from Nahar Township and surrounding areas, providing opportunities for holistic development.

At Nahar International School, we believe that true education goes beyond academics. Our holistic approach places student well-being at the heart of the learning process, seamlessly integrating emotional, physical, and intellectual development. This is not an add-on but a core aspect of the educational experience. The Well-Being Department, a cornerstone of our philosophy, fosters an environment where empathy, resilience, and collaboration are actively cultivated. By embedding these values into daily learning, we ensure that our students are not only academically prepared but also equipped with the emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills necessary to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.

Leadership and Impact Beyond the Classroom
At Nahar International School (NIS), the Student Council, composed of high school students, plays a pivotal role in shaping the school community. These young leaders are actively involved in decision-making processes, contributing to the development of school policies, and handbooks, and offering valuable insights into the school’s website and social media strategies. Their leadership also extends to organizing school events, designing student-led initiatives, and providing feedback on ways to enhance learning experiences, ensuring a well-rounded and engaging educational journey.

The Student Council’s influence is not confined to the classroom. They contribute to shaping the school’s community outreach programs, and environmental sustainability projects, and play a key role in decisions related to co-curricular activities and student well-being initiatives. This dynamic leadership platform empowers students to think critically and act decisively, fostering a culture where they can make meaningful contributions both within and beyond the school walls.

At NIS, we firmly believe that our students are not just learners but changemakers—visionary individuals capable of driving revolutionary ideas and cultivating a culture of 360-degree transformation. By providing them with opportunities to lead, innovate, and make impactful decisions, we nurture their ability to bring about meaningful change, both within the school and in the broader global community.

Students are encouraged to challenge norms, lead with empathy, and embrace collaborative learning. This ensures that they are not only academically prepared but also equipped with the leadership qualities needed to become global citizens who can inspire change, tackle future challenges, and contribute to a better world. The harmonious atmosphere created through this collaborative spirit enables younger students to thrive in an environment of mutual respect and a shared love for learning, reinforcing the belief that everyone has the potential to shape the future.

A Vision for the Next Decade
Looking ahead, Nahar International School (NIS) remains steadfast in its mission to nurture socially responsible global citizens within a safe, creative, and intellectually challenging environment. Building on a foundation of innovation and holistic education, NIS is committed to empowering students to thrive in an ever-evolving global landscape.

As part of this vision, the Nahar Group has launched Bees and Cubs, its first Cambridge Early Years preschool in Chandivali, Nahar Amrit Shakti. Spanning approximately one lakh square feet, the preschool is designed to host over 500 children. The state-of-the-art facility reflects the Nahar Group’s dedication to providing high-quality early childhood education in a nurturing, developmentally appropriate setting.

“At the heart of our preschool’s mission is the cultivation of values that instill compassion and responsibility in our students, empowering them to become conscientious global citizens. With advanced amenities and a dedicated team of educators, we are steadfast in our commitment to nurturing tomorrow’s leaders,” said Sukhraj Nahar, Founder Chairman and Managing Director, of Nahar Group.

“Bees and Cubs epitomises our dedication to delivering exceptional early education. Our aim is to foster curiosity, creativity, and compassion in young minds, setting them on a path of lifelong learning and personal development,” Manju Yagnik, Vice Chairperson, of Nahar Group, said.
